| | Students of class 2 ST 1, the international class at general studies, second year, are soon leaving for Legionowo, Warszaw, Poland to revisit their fellow Polish students. The Polish students were here last year for 10 days. And now we go there from 6 to 16 April. We are 22 students and two teachers leaving after Easter.
This is a two years’ Comenius project between Zespól Szkól Ogólnoksztalcacych in Legionowo, just north of Warszaw, and Fraena High School here in Elnesvaagen. The title of the partnership is “Common Background, Common Future” where main objectives are common history and present living conditions.
The Polish students were here last year with 20 students and four teachers. The students stayed with their Norwegian co-students. During daytime we were working on different projects at school and doing studies at adjacent local community sightseeings. We had three days of study and relaxation at the old fishing harbour of Bjoernsund, a day’s visit at the oil refinery of Ormen Lange, welcoming ceremony at the local town hall and a day’s trip to the steep fiord landscape of Geiranger. We were really becoming close friends with our partners I Poland. You´ll find the program for The Polish students here.
So now it is our turn to visit our Polish friends in Legionowo. We will stay 6 days in Warszaw/Legionowo doing projects at school there and making some sightseeing in Warszaw as well. The next four days will be spent in Cracow visiting Auschwitz and Birkenau, the salt mines and the old town of Cracow. . We really look forward to staying with our Polish friends and becoming more familiar with Polish history, society and culture. Program here. |
